Dual–Channel ABS System

A powerful bike is not truly powerful if it can’t stop safely. Having great speed and strength can be really exciting, but the excitement must not cause you to overlook the importance of control and safety in your vehicle riding choice.

The Dual Channel ABS then comes to the rescue. It works on both the wheels, ie, front and back. This makes sure you have a safer braking system. It makes sure there are no lockups or sudden jerks while you pause. It lowers the possibility of your bike slipping off the road. In short, it adds an important extra shell of safety that every modern or classic rider should consider.

It has a great ability to improve a rider’s safety. TVS is a trailblazer in ABS technology for motorbikes in India since 2011. It’s the first to bring in and make it available for many bikes.

Sensors play a major role that keeps monitoring and giving alerts to the system. It also modulates braking pressure as and when needed. The electronic control ABS received data in real time.

The ABS Evolution

The foremost safety feature in motorbikes used to highly depend on the rider’s driving skills, but by only using the drum, disc brakes, or the CBS system.

What Happens When the Rider Uses a Drum Brake?

The wheels of the bikes slow down when there is an expansion of the brake shoe inside the drum. It creates a friction that slows down the speed of the bike, specifically about bringing the wheels to a halt. The only flaw in using this was sudden jerks or stiffness while braking. It swiftly locks the wheels and could lead to a dangerous skid that would definitely cause a fall or collision.

What are Disc Brakes?

The Disc brakes are laid in the center of each wheel, where a rotor is mounted. It’s connected to a hub and calliper, connected to the fork. The back wheel has a frame. Friction is created by the brake pads, further making a swift movement of squealing the rotor and bringing the wheels to a halt. A lot of pressure by the biker can create a risky situation.

Combined Braking System (CBS)

A cool mechanism where both the wheels can be activated. In the front and rear of a motorbike’s wheel. Brake force is distributed by enhancing its safety and stability. It has proved to be helpful for new learners and riders. CBS is not very expensive. It’s a simple mechanism specifically designed for city bikes and scooters. It was not too active to bring into safe halts.

Did Rider’s Skill Work ?

Without ABS yes it did work only if the bikers was skilled to halt at crucial moments. It was earlier a manual usage of the mechanisms. It became a challenge if the rider didnt have the abilities to deal with sudden situations.

ABS Evolution

Engineers brought an evolution in the above technologies to improve the safety of these bikes. Continental manufacturers have refurbished the braking system. They made it smaller and used parts that were not very expensive. Mass production took place for motorcycles.

A new and modern dual-channel system was introduced with staunch sensors and controls. The overall system of the front and rear wheels changed. It has improved the overall safety for the rider. It has an individual braking system for each wheel.

Gabriel Voisin created an Anti-skid system for an aircraft. Robert Bosch was the foremost inventor who developed and widely spread the ABS system commercially. In 1978 it revealed its first production. This was the foundation and first groundwork of all channels. Bosch, a German company, was the leader in applying this system to motorcycles.

In 1971 Chrysler were the first to bring in a computerized system which was named Sure brakes  while in 1988 BMW introduced an electro-hydraulic ABS. The Japanese later equipped their bikes with ABS in the 1990s.

Rider’s Safety First : ABS Prevents Accidents!

The art of riding depends on the riders capability, performance and control but this is supported and improved by the dual ABS channel. It has significantly improved the biker’s safety.Let’s understand how it prevents an unforeseen accident.

The Dual channel ABS has core principles that have enhanced vehicle safety . This system works swiftly to bring in wheel lockup. To understand this better lets consider a rider on the highway and suddenly a wild animal comes on his path .If it were the old braking system it would either collide or cause a potential accident. But an ABS system will help the rider to quickly slow down and keep himself and the animal safe. The ABS system has made a groundbreaking change by its improved controls, reduced skids, Short braking distance and its adaptibility in various road conditions.

ABS Boons to the Automobile Industry!

There has been a dwindle in the tragic unforeseen crashes. Many accidents were averted and  also in near future can be prevented with this ABS system. There has been a 38 percent in injury crashes and 48 % in severe and fatal crashes.

The bikes are able to stop over and halt at safer distances mainly in a sudden unforeseen situation. Superior control and stability is just perfect for the rider to be safe. Improvised maneuverability has helped in avoiding obstacles.Riders can easily now change their riding ways to safety with the help of this system as it not only helps them in wet roads, mud, and congested traffic areas.

The next when you think of getting your drive Motrobike makr sure your loaded with a ABS system.
