Dodge Tomahawk, an Automotive Sculpture

Initially produced by DaimlerChrysler, it is now manufactured by Tomahawk. It’s a one-off concept vehicle. A non-street-legal motorbike. It has a rolling sculpture and an engine on wheels. A company that focuses on rare cars and is responsible for manufacturing the Tomahawk from its initial stage to the finish.

On a later stage, hand-built reproductions were later on sale. Only 9 units were made, and it was reproduced by different companies. It was called the rolling piece of art. The original was made in 2004. The reproduced vehicles were sold for $555,000.

The frame geometry of the bike is so cool that one cannot get over it at first glance. Precision engineering, embracing an exclusive piece of art, creating the Dodge Tomahawk.

Cool Built 

It has a powerful V10 engine. With a top speed of 676 km/h (420 mph).

It’s a rolling sculpture and is also known as an engine on wheels. It has an 8.3-liter 10-cylinder engine from the Dodge Viper sports car. It produces 500 horsepower.

It has special four wheels, well, 2 in the front and 2 in the back. They are independently sprung, which allows them to lean onto the corners like a motorbike.

Performance Claims 

It can speed from 0 to 100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 2.5 seconds. Experts hesitate about its functional and workable ways. It was never truly tested or approved for the road. It has 500 horsepower and a 2-speed transmission.

Its theory says that its topmost speed is over 400 mph. Just like the Kawasaki Ninja H2R has less speed than the Dodge. It is unique and artistic. Torque is 525 Lb-ft. Its transmission has a 2-speed or 7-speed paddle-shifted dual-clutch transmission in some sources. Not the fastest.

Wheels and Chassis: 4 wheels with a dual setup. They are custom-made. It has two 16-piston discs. It has rare brakes with 8-piston discs. The frame is seamless. It has a steel tube. Its kerb weight is 1,500 pounds.

Dimensions

Its length is about 2,600mm, and its width is 700mm. The height is about 940mm, and the seat height is 740mm. Its fuel capacity is 12.7 l.  The rider can lean in by taking turns by countersteering, similar to a 3-wheeler. A hub center steering system is utilised on the 2 front wheels. 

Its fuel consumption is approximately 56 litres per 100 kilometres at its peak speed. Fuel rating is almost nil. It’s an automotive sculpture through the Neiman Marcus Catalog. It has an extremely high fuel dissipation. It gives maximum performance. 

Dodge Tomahawk Cost

Dodge Tomahawk is around Rs 3.65 crores. But sadly, it’s not available in India as it was never intended to be sold in public. It was displayed in North America at an international Auto show. It’s available and brought by only a few in the United States. It has a limited run production. 

It’s not part of Stellantis. It did not pursue any further development or any form of mass production. It is trademarked by Stellantis. It is used for future performance or an electric vehicle. It shall be an entirely different product and not a motorbike kind of vehicle.

Potential Growth of the Dodge Tomahawk 

Being rare is its superpower. Only a few who wish to collect are the wealthy enthusiasts. It makes it desirable. Only a few own and so it becomes a part of the rich collection of the ones who brought it. Its legendary status stems from its V10 Viper engines. It has gained interest from many automotive enthusiasts and museums. The market value is high as it has good performance and utility. Though it doesn’t have a lot of future, its rarity makes it strong in the market.
