Yamaha XSR 155 is now available in India. This bike was introduced at the Yamaha Launch Event on 11th November 2025, is basically a fusion of neo-retro design and cutting-edge technology.
It is inspired from the R15 V4 to give us a sporty performance and a vintage scrambler-inspired look. The XSR 155 is the one to catch the eyes of those riders who are crazy about the classic look but still desire the dependability and excitement of a contemporary bike.
Engine and Performance
The Yamaha XSR 155 specifications include a 155cc, liquid-cooled, single cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve, SOHC engine with fuel injection. It produces 18 bhp and 14.7 Nm at 8,500 rpm. This motorcycle uses a 6-speed manual transmission with an assist and slipper clutch, which allows for smoother shifts and increased control when downshifting.
The same powerful engine is in the Yamaha R15 V4 that gives it an aggressive and sporty feel. The XSR 155 mileage is expected somewhere between 45-50 km/l, depends on how someone rides it. Good mid-range torque and smooth throttle, this motorcycle can be a great companion for city as well as highway rides.
Design and Styling
The design of the Yamaha XSR 155 is extremely attractive. The bike goes along with retro scrambler theme that is enhanced by round LED headlamps, minimalist tank design, and flat seat, which is all in all the tappings of a classic unit. The block pattern tires and wide handlebars serve the rider with a strong grip as well as comfortable riding position.
The speedometer, an odometer, a trip meter, a fuel gauge, and a clock are digitally displayed on the console. Yamaha XSR 155 is available in three different colours, which are Metallic Brown Authentic, Metallic Black Elegance, and Matte Silver Premium.

To make sure that the rider is in full control even on rough roads, the Yamaha XSR 155 is fitted with USD front forks and a rear monoshock having the feature of preload adjustment.
Braking comes with a 267mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc along with a dual-channel ABS. The bike is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels and tubeless block-pattern tires. The motorcycle is of a 810mm seat height, 170mm ground clearance, and weighs approximately 134kg.

Price and Competition in India
The Yamaha XSR 155 price in India is expected between Rs 1.60 lakh and Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be a competition with Royal Enfield Hunter 350, TVS Ronin, and Yamaha FZ-X in this price bracket. Even though the Hunter 350 has a more traditional look, the XSR is still a better one as it has a higher power-to-weight ratio, and is more fun and comfortable for city rides.
