The Mahindra XUV 400 came directly in an electric variant in 2023. The interior of this car is all premium, but the exterior look does not make a mark on the people. Making it outdated. However, it offers great safety.
It failed to make a mark, like Thar, XUV700, and Scorpio have made in fuel variants. And later, Mahindra launches two other electric cars to make a competition for the rivals: Mahindra BE 06 and Mahindra XUV 9e.
It sells around 250-300 units per month in 2025.
Looks and Design
The outer look does not leave a significant mark. The car offers 5 monotone and 5 dual-tone colours. From the front, it has Copper Accents, Headlights, and DRLs, and Aero-Efficiency.
A diamond-cut alloy wheel, copper roof rail, OVRMs, Integrated LED turn indicators, spoiler, and dual-tone roof options on the side design. And the taillights are there in the rear design. Also offers monotone and dual-tone colours.
Performance
It offers 2 battery choices. A battery size of 34.5 kWh, providing a range of 375km per charge. Another battery size of 39.5 kWh that provides a 456km range per charge. Producing 147bhp at 310nm torque. An electric motor of 110kW, a maximum power of 150 PS. It can go from 0 to 100km/h in just 8.3 seconds. Also offers a fearless mode and has a top speed of 150 kmph.
With the AC charger of 3.3, it can fully charge in 13.5 hours. Another home charger of 7.2kW, it takes 6.5 hours to fully charge. And offers a fast charger of DC 50 kW, that can go from 0 to 80% in around 50 minutes only.

It comes with a length, width, and height of 3985mm, 4200mm, and 1634mm. A wheelbase of 2600mm. Comes with a ground clearance of 200mm. And has a boot space of 378 litres. Offers a tyre size of 205/65 R16.

The price starts from 15.49 lakh rupees and it increases to 17.69 lakh rupees for the better and top variants. The car faces competition from the Tata Nexon EV, MG ZA EV, and Tata Curvv EV, which are of the same price and segment.
Overall, the vehicle is not making a bigger impact in India than expected before. However, the outer look is a problem for it. But provides a great performance and range at a good price range.
