Recently, Tesla has launched its first showroom in India. Along with launching their first-ever car in the country. It is a Tesla Model Y.
Now, Tesla is keen to expand its market in India. And the brand does not want any sort of delays. Tesla is set to launch its first supercharger station in India. The first station will be launching in Mumbai on 4th August at One BKC, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. It is the same area where the first showroom of Tesla was launched on 15th July
Initially, Tesla had planned to launch 8 supercharging stations in India. And Mumbai is the first city to launch. Some of the other cities may include Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Chennai.
The charging station will come with four V4 supercharger stalls for DC fast chargers. It will provide a maximum power output of 250kW, for which, per kW will cost 24 rupees.
With this charging, the launched Tesla Model Y can cover a range of more than 250km in just 15 minutes of charging.
It will also have four destination charger stalls (for AC charging). Which will have a power of 11kW, and the price for each kW will be 14 rupees.
DC fast chargers are suitable for charging the car earlier, which is the reason for the higher price. And the AC charger will cost a lower price.
Model Y is the first car from Tesla to be launched in India. The car offers two variants. The base variant costs 59.89 lakh rupees in India, whereas the other long-range RWD variant with a better motor is available at 67.89 lakh rupees in India. The highest range the car provides is around 622km.
Many big politicians and businessmen have recently bought Tesla cars. The demand for cars is currently high in the Indian market. And with these types of charging features and longer range, the market for electric cars will see a great boost.
