Kinetic Green Electric Luna Returns as a Nostalgic EV Icon

The Indian automotive manufacturer has a long history dating back to 1972. It has pioneered in the automobile industry in India. Kinetic engineering, with its old business for over a decade, is a symbol of mobility. Its first Luna of 50 cc was a motorized alternative to a bicycle, featuring pedaling features along with a motorcycle gear.

It was a style Statement and a pride for a common man. It created a name in all Indian houses. Originally, it was lightweight, designed with a basic structure, and priced at ₹69,900/-. 

The new kinetic green Luna has been upgraded with distinctive features and a complete electric smooth version, excluding the bicycle option. “Chal Meri Luna” campaign, headed by Mr Pious Pandey, will be a part of the new electric Luna launch with his creative ideas enhancing its relaunch and brand attraction.

With a range up to 100km, 1.2 kW motor, a 2 kWh battery, a top speed of around 50 kmph, a detachable rear seat system, telescopic front suspensions, kerb weight 96 kg, CBS, a saree guard for clothing protection, bag hooks, hand-held pillow seats, it can be charged in just 4 hours. The kinetic green Luna has had massive success in the EV market. 

Price, Sales, Marketing, challenges, and potentials

The company has been actively promoting it in the B2b and e-commerce sector. It is growing its network on its online presence with Amazon and Flipkart. It aims at physical touch points with its old and new customers. Manufacturing multiple variants, it is targeting individuals and business owners, and stores. Its emphasis on sustainable growth is its competition with petrol-powered TVs, the XL 100 looped segment. 

The comeback Kinetic Green has filled the gaps and is expected to reach a turnover of ₹1,200 crore. The nostalgic brand maintains its iconic and Vogue position, which has created a massive buzz in this segment. With its versatile design, it’s expanding in the EV market as it is well-positioned to capitalize and attract more nostalgia amongst the buyers and customers. 

With its price point of ₹74,990/ it could be a barrier for some. The EV market is growing with tremendous competition, which involves Ola Bikes as its competitor. The kinetic EV green has a good battery, but there may be a need for more, as per users. 

With its versatile design, it consists of a 150 kg payload capacity it suitable for various purposes, appealing to a wide range of users. This iconic brand has leveraged its role and is a player in the Indian market. It can bring back its users and love for Luna with this upgraded electric version. 

The most loved Luna, reaching back on the roads off pedals with its smooth silence, has increased competition in the electric two-wheeler affordable segment. These urban-friendly easy-to-use bikes are used as delivery fleets and appreciated by all. A practical, feasible, and attractive option for budget-conscious families. It’s a promising choice in urban, rural, and commercial settings.
