BYD Seal 2025: A Global EV Leader Expanding in India

Recently, BYD surpassed Tesla to become the best-selling electric car brand. BYD already has a global dominance, and in India, too, it holds a great reputation in selling luxury sedans. Seal is one of the well-known EVs from BYD. Let’s look at the specifications of the BYD Seal.

The BYD seal was launched in India in March 2024. Later in 2025, the newest model of the BYD Seal will be launched in India. It is now more spacious and comes with some new features. 

In the Electric Vehicle sector, BYD is tasting success in India. 

Appearance and Style 

The BYD seal has a premium luxury appearance in sedans. Available in 4 monotone colours. Body colored front bumper, Double-U “floating” LED headlights are included in the front design. Where the rear design has a Body colored rear bumper, and a Rear windscreen mount antenna. The side design comes with Electronic hidden door handles with Colored Outside Door Handles, dual-tone aero Alloy Wheels, and Integrated Roof Rails.

For interior colour combination, High‑grade vegan leather trim, both dual and single colour, is used depending on the models. 

Performance 

BYD seal comes with a dual battery set-up of 61.44kWh and 82.56kWh. 

61.44kWh battery has a power of 201.15PS at 310nm torque. It can cover a speed of up to 100km/h in 7.5 seconds. And the range of 510km is provided with this battery. 

The other battery of 82.56kWh has a power of 523PS at 670nm torque. It can reach from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.8 seconds. And it provides a heavy range of 650km. 

BYD seal Dimensions 

BYD seal comes with a length, width, and height of 4800mm, 1875mm, and 1460mm. The ground clearance of 145mm is there. And it has a wheelbase of 2920mm. A boot space of 400 litres is provided. The car has a kerb weight of 1922kg. A tyre size of 225/50 R18. 

BYD seal Features  

The BYD seal has a big 15.6-inch rotating portrait/landscape infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 10.25-inch driver digital cluster is also there. It has two wireless charging features and two cup holders for all three rows. 

It has an Imitation leather-wrapped steering wheel, buttons for audio/music, phone(call/end), and cruise control.

With a seating capacity of 4 passengers, it has a Silver-plated panoramic glass roof. And provides multiple drive modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, and Snow. 

Ventilated Driver seat 8-way power adjustable, Passenger seat 6-way power adjustable, frameless wipers, air purifier, Dual zone climate control, 12 DYNAUDIO speakers for music, ambient lighting, and C-type USB-1 in front are its other features. 

Safety 

The car provides great safety features. And along with it, BYD Seal scored a 5-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash tests. 

Safety features include Level‑2 ADAS,9 airbags, Smart cruise control(SCC) with stop and go, Lane keep assist(LKS), Rear cross traffic collision warning & avoidance assist(RCTA), High beam assist(HBA), ABS with EBD,hill‑hold, ISOFIX, 360 degree camera, rear sensors, disc front and rear brakes. 

Price and Competition 

In India, it starts with a price of 41 lakh rupees, which extends to 55.92 lakh rupees for the top model. 

The car faces tough competition from the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV 6, and Volvo XC40. And the newest rival of this car was launched recently in India: the Tesla Model Y. 

The car can be said as great in every aspect. Safety, performance, range, looks, and design, the car has everything. However, a low ground clearance is a drawback of it.
