A Much-awaited Upcoming Electric Tata Car

After the success of the Tata Safari in petrol and diesel variants, Tata is set to launch its electric variant. This car may launch by August 2025. With the model name “Safari EV.”

Officially, the colors of this have not been revealed yet, but it is expected to have around 6-8 colors. The range will be provided up to 600 km. However, the claimed range of this car is 500 km.

Safari EV Engine

The estimated battery pack will be of 70-80 kWh. Also, it will support DC fast charging, which will charge its battery from 0 to 80% in around 50 to 60 minutes. Single and dual motors will come along with AWD (All-Wheel-Drive). And will generate 300 hp with 400nm torque.

It will take around 7.5 to 8 seconds to reach from 0 to 100 kmph. Tata is always known for providing great safety features in its cars. Other variants of the Tata Safari also got 5-star safety ratings from Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP.

Safety and other features

In terms of its safety and other features, it will have 

  • 360-degree camera
  • Blind spot monitor 
  • TPMS parking sensors 
  • Up to 7 airbags, ABS, and EWD
  • USB ports 
  • Tray 
  • AC vents in the middle and the last row
  • Connected LED tail lamp
  • Panoramic sunroof  
  • 12.3-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto 
  • 10.25-inch digital cluster

Safari EV Dimensions

An updated LED DRLs, EV badging, and a closed grille are some of its other features. Dimensions of this car are expected – 

  • Length – 4668mm
  • Width – 1922 mm 
  • Height – 1795 mm 
  • Wheel base – 2741 mm 

And 19-21 inch aero alloy wheels. 

It is expected to have a boot space of around 420 L for both manual and electric. Its ground clearance is 205mm. Its steering control features are buttons for audio/music, phone(call/end), and a PU-based leather wrap air purifier integrated into the cabin.

Premium leather material is used for its interior. Ventilated front seats will be there. And it will be a 7-seater. 3 drive modes will be there – Eco, City, and Sport. 

The expected price of the Tata Safari EV will start from around 26 lakh rupees and will rise to around 32 lakh rupees, depending on the model.  And will enter the Indian market as the direct rival of the Mahindra XUV 9e and BYD Atto 3, Tata Harrier EV, Hyundai Creta EV, and Mahindra BE 05.
