Hyundai Venue EV: India’s Upcoming Electric SUV Explained

The Hyundai Venue EV is a compact SUV to be launched in India. Though it was expected to be launched by April 2025, it has not yet been launched and remains in one of the “upcoming cars”. The idea of Venue EV was first showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 in Delhi. Hyundai expressed the idea of adapting to an EV platform and advanced technology.

Exterior Design

The Venue EV features small LED lights that serve as daytime running lights, and it also has LED backlights. The car is designed to reduce wind resistance. It features door handles fixed flat to the car’s body, 16-inch alloy wheels, and a plastic-covered closed grill. This reduces wind resistance and helps the car move more smoothly.

Venue EV provides enough interior space because it is built on a special base designed for electric cars known as E-GMP. It is more comfortable with its extra space.

Battery and Performance

Venue EV is likely to have a 45 to 50 kWh battery, although the exact value is not final yet. You can also charge other gadgets, such as a laptop, from the car’s battery. According to ARAI testing, the car can travel about 300 to 350 km once it is fully charged.

This eliminates the worry of frequent charging, which is very common in EVs. This also facilitates people who love city drives and long drives. It will produce 134-150bhp and 250 Nm torque. It is assumed to be quite strong and fast for an electric SUV.

Venue EV supports DC fast charging, and it can go from 10 to 80% charge within 30-45 minutes of charging. With a regular charger, it will take about around 7 hours to fully charge.

Hyundai Venue EV Interior and Features

Hyundai has very well performed its social responsibility by using recycled vegan leather for the seats, which is not only eco-friendly but also animal-friendly. It has ambient lighting, which gives a soft glow in the car. The car has a 10.25-inch touchscreen through which riders have easy access to music, navigation, and apps. There is also a 7-inch digital display that shows driving info like speed, battery level, and others.

The car also has a panoramic sunroof and will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to give a cable-free connectivity.

Safety Features

Venue EV has the necessary safety features, which include 6 airbags, electronic stability control, TPMS, and hill start assist. Other tech features like Forward Collision-Avoidance, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind‑Spot Warning, 360° camera, and Driver Attention Monitor are present. These features make it safer and easier to drive, to be in the right lane, and to park without hitting any object.

Tata Hyundai EV is to be launched at an expected price of around ₹12 lakh. We might expect Hyundai to give closer details about colors or variants closer to launch. If Hyundai EV is launched at such an affordable price, then it might give strong competition to other cars in the same segment.

When compared, it is available at battery and range comparable to the Tata Nexon, which is ₹12.49 – 17.19 lakh. Additionally, Hyundai is a trusted brand and has a vast service network across India. If it delivers the same performance and features as promised, then we may see Venue EV as a top contender in the SUV segment.
