Mahindra has come up with this cool concept of a pikup vehicle. It was designed at the MIDS. That’s Mahindra’s Indian Design studio. It represents its unique lifestyle. The company aimed to go global with this concept. It’s curated for enthusiasts who look for adventure and exploring the uncharted terrains. It comes in tough and versatile. Performance is optimum and has a great capacity, which is robust.
Mahindra Global Pick-up, What’s so New! What’s so special!
A lifestyle and adventure-oriented has attributes that make it adventure-friendly and robust.
It feels purpose-built. The front of the car features a wide grille, sharp LED headlamps, and bold vertical fog lamps, all of which sit above a chunky skid plate that appears ready for rocky terrain and mountainous conditions. From the sides, it has unique dual rear tyres on each side setup commonly seen on work trucks in South Africa. It’s unusual for Indian roads, but it adds serious presence and load-carrying promise.
The concept was shown in a deep, burnt orange shade that makes the whole thing look even more serious and adventurous. The rear look is really simple but muscular, with a wide cargo bed, LED tail lights, in addition to it a clean tailgate design.
Rugged and muscular with its built-in exteriors, it can bring back your memories of riding a Scorpio-N. The overall design is enormous and tough.
Iconic Brand
This pickup is Mahindra’s next global move. It’s based on the Scorpio N’s tough ladder frame platform and is being built for both Indian and international markets, especially Africa, Australia, and parts of Southeast Asia. Production is expected to start around 2025, and while a final name hasn’t been confirmed, it might be called the Scorpio X. The idea is to offer something that works as both a lifestyle vehicle and a proper utility truck, without the big price tags of imported pickups.
Powerful Engine and Drive!
It has a 2.2-liter engine with mHawk diesel. Torque up to 400NM. Horsepower up to 172bhp. It has transmissions of 6-speed manual and automatic. It has a 4WD low-range transfer case. It has a great capacity to tackle rough patches, steeper climbs with its 4X4 system.
Dimensions & Body
This is no compact truck. The Global Pick-Up is longer and more stretched out than the Scorpio N, because of the large cargo tray and extended wheelbase. Ground clearance is high, which makes it ready for poor roads or off-roading. The twin rear tyres, at least in the concept version, aren’t just for looks. They hint at higher payload capacity, which could be a big draw for international buyers. The load bay is wide and flat, perfect for everything from tools to bikes or camping setups.
Interior Layout & Cabin Feel
The inside borrows from the Scorpio N’s cabin layout, but you can expect it to feel a bit more useful in lower trims and more premium in higher ones. It will seat five comfortably in a dual-cab layout. The car may have the interiors more rugged on purpose to appeal to both urban and rural buyers.
Features & Tech
One of the best music systems curated ever for the vehicle is built as a joint venture with AR Rahman. India’s music maestro helped fine-tune the sound experience inside this pickup. So that the music is not just loud, it’s clear, as well as detailed, perfect for long drives or if you want to just enjoy the music while parked. Apart from that, you can expect a large infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, and charging options that include USB-C ports. Safety-wise, it should offer six airbags, hill hold, traction control, and maybe even advanced features like lane keep assist and automatic braking in higher variants.
Pricing, Offers & After-Sales
Ex-showroom price ranges from Rs 16lakhs to Rs 23 lakhs. It shall differ in price as you upgrade its amenities. Flexible EMI plans and exchange offers will be available, especially during the launch phase. It’s being positioned as a truck that offers solid value, something that can do the job but also feel good to live with.
Mahindra Global Pickup Target Audience & Competition
This pick-up is aimed at people who need real utility but don’t want to compromise on style or features. Think small business owners, off-roaders, and adventure seekers who want a vehicle that can haul stuff during the week and take them camping on the weekend. It’ll compete directly with pickups like the Isuzu V-Cross and Toyota Hilux, but at a much lower price. What makes it stand out is the mix of rugged design, off-road ability, serious towing potential, and that rare bit of flair, like the Rahman-tuned sound system and the bold orange finish shown on the concept.
