The Mahindra Scorpio was launched in 2002. It marked a bold presence in the market with its rugged look. It has built its reputation with an eye-catching look and demands attention wherever it goes. It has really made its presence felt, especially in rural and in towns and semi-urban areas.
A few years down the line, when more SUVs started to launch in the market, Scorpio also evolved with the changing models in order to be competitive. Scorpio began to include premium features, more comfort, safety, and technology.
Mahindra launched the Scorpio N in 2022. Different models in Scorpio N, like Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8 L, have been launched. In this article , we will read about Scorpio-N AT models, and those are Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8L.
SCORPIO‑N Z4 AT
Mahindra launched the Z4 AT in June 2025. This variant was launched in order to make the AT (Automatic Transmission) more affordable to buyers. Because earlier AT trim was only offered in expensive variants like the Z6, Z8, and Z8L. So then Z4 was launched for those who wanted to purchase an automatic variant without emptying their pockets.
Scorpio-N Z4 AT offers both petrol and diesel engine options. Both options use a 6-speed automatic gearbox, with which you don’t need to change gear manually.
- Petrol Engine (2.0L) — ~ 200 hp and 380 Nm of torque.
- Diesel Engine (2.2L) — ~ 130 hp and 300 Nm of torque.

LED turn indicators, Chrome-accented front grille, Body-coloured bumpers, and Roof rails are present for a rugged look. It offers a great utility to those who are looking for an automatic SUV with premium-like features and at an affordable price. While you may have to compromise a little with some tech features and the quality of the interior, the Z4 AT is still a smart choice for the daily needs of SUV buyers.
