Maruti’s First Premium 7-Seater SUV to Launch by Late 2025

After making a bunch of budget-friendly cars, Maruti is set to go for a premium SUV this time, that is set to arrive by late 2025. Aiming to dominate Indian market with its premium looks and stunning features.

Maruti Suzuki is also known for making budget-friendly cars. Additionally, it consistently dominates in sales every year. In the car sales of the last Financial Year, 2024-25, Maruti Suzuki had 5 out of the top 7 cars in the elite list. They were – Wagon R, Swift, Ertiga, Baleno, and Brezza. 

This year, Maruti Suzuki has decided to launch another 7-seater car. It will be the Maruti Grand Vitara car, launching in a 7-seater, and will have 3 rows. The car is scheduled to launch by late 2025. Some speculations are considering its launch in October during the Diwali time. 

It will have around 3 monotone colours. It will have different variants – Petrol, Hybrid, and Electric. It will have different engines for its different variants. For petrol, it will have a 1.5 L K15C mild hybrid 1500cc/103PS/137Nm, which will help in covering the speed from 0 to 100 kmph in just a few seconds. It will have a tank capacity of 45 litres. Which will help in providing the mileage of 20-21 kmpl. Hybrid models will consist of Electric and Petrol. Possibilities are also there that the CNG variant will be launched. 

For its safety purposes, it will have Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, disc brakes, and ambient light. The previous model of Grand Vitara got a 4-star rating by Global NCAP, and with this new variant, Maruti Suzuki is expected to get the same or even might get a 5-star rating for both occupants.

It will also have split LED headlamps, sleek DRL, fog lamps, and connected LED tail lamps. In terms of its dimensions, it is expected to have a length of 4345 mm, a width of 1795 mm, a height of 1645 mm, a wheel base of 2600 mm, and 17-inch wheels with 215/60R17 in top models. It is expected that it will have a boot space of around 373L. Providing a ground clearance of 210mm. 

It will have a bunch of features – 

  • Panoramic Sunroof 
  • Buttons for Audio, Music, and Phone calls. 
  • PU-based leather wrap and cruise control
  • A 10-10.25-inch digital touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also provides wireless charging. 
  • A ventilated front seat, 7-seaters with 3 rows, and a powered 8-way driver seat. 
  • Dual tone colour and soft touch dashboard
  • Provides auto, eco, snow, lock, and sport driving modes

Joint middle-class families will be the target audience for this car. The price range of this car may start from 20 lakh rupees and go up to 27 lakh rupees, depending on variants. The car will arrive in the market as a direct rival of the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 700, and MG Hector Plus.
