Toyota Fortuner is also called the ‘Dominator of the SUV market’. The car is mainly loved and respected globally. In terms of sales, this car dominates one-sided in India, with sales of around 3000 units every month, which takes up a rough amount of around 36,000 unit sales in a year. Also, according to data, Toyota Fortuner has captured an 82% share in large SUV sales.
A new model of the Toyota Fortuner was launched in June 2025. And was named as Fortuner Neo Drive Hybrid. It was done to enhance its fuel efficiency and its overall performance. It will have petrol and diesel variants.
The petrol variant will have a 2.7-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 2700 cc, 163 bhp, and 245 nm torque. Whereas the diesel variant will have a 2.8-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine with 2800 cc displacement, 201.15 bhp, and 500 nm torque with automatic and manual transmission options. It will provide a mileage of 10-14 km/l, and a fuel tank capacity of 80 litres.

The variant is launched with 7 colour options. In front of this car, a split LED headlamp with sleek DRLs is given. And for its back look, a sleek full-width LED strip, the Neo Drive badge sits on the tailgate is there. It has a 296L boot space and can be opened in both ways, manual and automatic ways. After the launch of this car, the price of every model was increased by 50,000 rupees. The ex-showroom price of this premium SUV starts from around 44 lakh rupees and increases to around 52 lakh rupees depending on the model.
MG Gloster, Ford Endeavour, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, and Toyota’s famous model, Innova Hycross. These cars are also in the same segment and of the same price, but they differ in some features. The generation change of this car could now be delayed to the last quarter of 2026. Generation change typically occurs over a period of around 10 years.
