Volkswagen Virtus 2025: Stylish Upgrade with More Power

The car is scheduled for a facelift in late 2025 or early 2026. However, recently it got upgraded with a better body and some minor changes in the exterior. And the new variant was also introduced. 

In 2022, Volkswagen launched ‘Virtus’. It came into the Indian market in June 2022. The car is a premium sedan with a bunch of features, a great safety rating, and provides a powerful performance, along with a spacious interior. 

Volkswagen Virtus became successful in the Indian market. It is the highest-selling premium sedan in the Indian market. Selling more than 50,000 units in India. 

Appearance and Style

Volkswagen Virtus is available in 8 monotone colours. The front design has a Wide honeycomb-style front grille with gloss black finish, Sleek, sharp LED headlamps with integrated L-shaped LED DRLs, a bumper with aerodynamic lines, and fog lamps.

The rear design consists of LED wraparound tail lamps, a Dual-tone design with black inserts on the lower section, a black Spoiler, and a Shark fin antenna. Chrome Accents, door handles, and dual-tone alloy wheels are there in the side design. 

For interior colour combination, it has a premium dual-tone dashboard. 

Volkswagen Virtus Mileage and Performance

The car offers a single fuel variant: Petrol. A 1.0 L TSI Turbocharged Petrol engine is there, producing a capacity of 999cc at 178Nm torque with the power of 115bhp. 

For the better and top models, it comes with a 1.5 L TSI Turbocharged Petrol engine,  producing 1498cc capacity at 250Nm torque with the power of 150bhp. It can go from 0 to 100km/h in around 9.3 seconds. 

Supplies a mileage of 20.8km/l in manual and 19.62km/l in automatic. And it has a total fuel capacity of 45 litres. 

Dimensions 

The length, width, and height of the car are 4561 mm, 1752 mm, and 1507 mm. A wheelbase of 2651mm. The ground clearance provided is 179mm. The kerb weight of the car is 1269kg. A boot space of 521 litres. 205/55 R16 is the tyre size.

A 10-inch infotainment touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is there. An 8-inch digital cockpit is also given. 

It has a single-pane sunroof and provides two front and rear cup holders. 

Buttons for audio/music & phone(call/end) and cruise control are given on the steering wheel. 

Other features are Ventilated front seat with back pocket, Power adjustable Driver’s Seat, Sunshade Curtains, automatic climate control,8 speaker audio, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, wireless charging, Red Ambient light, Rain sensing wiper, defogger,12V Plug front, Front 2x USB-C sockets (data+charging), and Rear two USB-C socket module (charging only). 

Safety

It got a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP. Making it one of the safest sedans in the country. Safety features of the car are 6 Airbags, ADAS level 2, ABS with EBD, TPMS, ESC, TCS, camera with sensor and guidelines, Front disc and rear drum brakes, ISOFIX, Hill assist, and multi-collision braking. 

Volkswagen Virtus Price and Competition 

The price for the base variant is 11.56 lakh rupees. And the price extends to 22.09 lakh rupees for the better and top variants. 

The Hyundai Verna, Honda City, and Skoda Slavia are other sedans that make a competition with it in the market. 

With this car, Volkswagen has succeeded in making a perfect sedan with great looks, safety, interior, and performance. However, the base model of the car offers very limited features.
